Income Taxes |
Note 9 —Income Taxes Our effective income tax rate was 32.1% for the three months ended January 2, 2021, compared to 36.4% for the three months ended December 28, 2019. The difference between the statutory rate and our effective rate is primarily attributed to a decrease in the valuation allowance for our interest limitation carryforward and state taxes for the three months ended January 2, 2021. The difference between the statutory rate and our effective rate was primarily due to an increase in the valuation allowance for our interest limitation carryforward for the three months ended December 28, 2019. Our effective income tax rate can fluctuate due to factors including valuation allowances, changes in tax law, federal and state audits and the impact of discrete items. |
